Senior Healthcare Assistant | Flexible Shifts | £17£23 per hour

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our agency care home team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, supporting their daily needs, and supervising junior staff. This position offers an opportunity to lead with compassion and professionalism, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all residents.

Rates of pay range from £17£23 per hour depending on shift pattern, with enhanced rates for weekends and bank holidays.

Duties include

  • Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring residents' dignity and independence are maintained.

  • Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment through effective leadership.

  • Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, medication management, and meal preparation.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans and incident reports.

  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery.

  • Support residents' emotional well-being through companionship and engaging activities.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures.

  • Contribute to the organisation's training programmes by sharing expertise in senior care practices.

Experience

  • Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care is essential.

  • Proven supervising experience demonstrating leadership skills within a healthcare setting.

  • Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs.

  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members.

  • Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.

  • Valid driving licence is desirable.
