Conveyancing Legal Secretary Kent
We are looking for an experienced Conveyancing Legal Secretary to join an established legal team based in Kent.
This is a role for someone with a wealth of conveyancing experience who can provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to solicitors and fee earners while helping to keep a busy residential property caseload running efficiently.
The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of the conveyancing process and be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced legal environment.
The RoleYou will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support across residential conveyancing matters, working closely with fee earners, clients and other parties throughout the transaction.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing day-to-day secretarial support to conveyancing fee earners
Assisting with residential property transactions from instruction through to completion
Preparing and formatting correspondence, legal documents and reports
Opening and maintaining client and matter files
Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence and documentation
Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, solicitors and other relevant parties
Assisting with searches, enquiries, exchange and completion processes
Preparing completion statements and other transaction documentation
Monitoring key dates, deadlines and outstanding information
Updating case management systems and maintaining accurate records
Processing post-completion documentation where required
Assisting fee earners with the day-to-day progression of their caseload
Communicating with clients and providing updates on the progress of matters
Ensuring files are maintained in line with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
This position requires someone with substantial, hands-on conveyancing experience. It is not suited to a candidate whose background is primarily general legal administration.
You should have:
Significant previous experience as a Conveyancing Legal Secretary
Strong knowledge of the residential conveyancing process
Experience supporting solicitors or conveyancers with a busy caseload
Confidence dealing with clients and third parties
Excellent understanding of conveyancing terminology and documentation
Strong IT and document management skills
Excellent organisation and attention to detail
The ability to prioritise and manage multiple matters simultaneously
A proactive approach and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A professional and client-focused approach
The ideal candidate will be an experienced conveyancing secretary who can hit the ground running and requires minimal training on the fundamentals of residential property work.
You'll understand the pressures and deadlines involved in conveyancing and will be confident anticipating what a fee earner needs, keeping matters moving and dealing with clients and third parties professionally.
