Senior Healthcare Assistant | Ipswich | £17£23 per hour
Location: Ipswich, with placements across the surrounding area including Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Framlingham, Needham Market and Kesgrave
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our agency care home team, covering placements across Ipswich and the surrounding area. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents, supporting their daily needs, and supervising junior staff. This position offers an opportunity to lead with compassion and professionalism, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all residents.
Rates of pay range from £17£23 per hour depending on shift pattern, with enhanced rates for weekends and bank holidays.
Duties include
Delivering personalised care in line with individual care plans, ensuring residents' dignity and independence are maintained

Supervising and supporting junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment through effective leadership

Assisting residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, medication management, and meal preparation

Maintaining accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans and incident reports

Communicating effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery

Supporting residents' emotional wellbeing through companionship and engaging activities

Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures

Contributing to the organisation's training programmes by sharing expertise in senior care practices

Experience
Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care is essential

Proven supervisory experience demonstrating leadership skills within a healthcare setting

Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs

Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members

Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes

A valid driving licence is desirable

Covering Ipswich and the surrounding area, including Woodbridge, Felixstowe, Stowmarket, Framlingham, Needham Market and Kesgrave.
