As an Optical Assistant, you'll welcome customers and conduct basic visual testing, explaining results, offering advice and guidance. You will then support helping customers understand their prescription, dispensing frames and lenses, offering reassurance throughout.
You'll be surrounded by experienced Opticians and Technicians who can help you strengthen your knowledge and grow your confidence, with plenty of professional training and development on offer.
Role Overview
- Explore customer needs thoroughly, analysing prescriptions and handling any queries
- Carry out diagnostic testing with customers, explaining outcomes
- Dispense prescriptions, offering advice on lenses, frames and styling choices
- Book and change customer appointments, along with general day-to-day admin
The Ideal Candidate
- Any level of previous working experience within an optical environment or opticians, understand visual perception and basic visual defects
- A high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to build working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
