We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our agency care home team on the Isle of Wight, covering Wootton, Ryde, and Newport. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, supporting their daily needs, and supervising junior staff.
This Senior Healthcare Assistant position offers an opportunity to lead with compassion and professionalism, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for all residents.
Duties include
Deliver personalised care in accordance with individual care plans, ensuring residents' dignity and independence are maintained
Supervise and support junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment through effective leadership
Assist residents with daily activities such as mobility, personal hygiene, medication management, and meal preparation
Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, including updates to care plans and incident reports
Communicate effectively with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care delivery
Support residents' emotional well-being through companionship and engaging activities
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including infection control procedures
Contribute to the organisation's training programmes by sharing expertise in senior care practices
Experience
As a Senior Healthcare Assistant , you'll need:
Previous experience working within a care home environment specialising in senior care
Proven supervising experience demonstrating leadership skills within a healthcare setting
Familiarity with creating and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs
Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with residents, families, and team members
Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
Valid driving licence is desirable
