Investment Director

Between £120,000 and £180,000 Per Month

Job description

Our client is an Independent Power Producer backed by private equity, with significant capital available to accelerate growth. The business is taking a substantial pipeline of major projects through to Financial Investment Decision, and it needs an Investment Director who can lead that process while targeting international expansion and maximising risk-adjusted returns.

The Company

Our client operates a diversified flexible generation and storage portfolio, spanning battery storage and other complementary technologies across Europe. Backed by private equity, they are entering a phase of rapid, well-funded growth across the continent. This is a business where deals move fast and the pipeline is genuinely substantial, so the Investment Director will have real scope to shape outcomes rather than simply execute against a fixed plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial delivery of a portfolio of assets through all stages of development to financial close, overseeing financing, offtake procurement and M&A processes as deal lead.
  • Source new acquisition opportunities across the European renewables and flexible generation space.
  • Oversee financial modelling for live transactions, providing guidance and review for junior team members.
  • Analyse the financial impact of project risk, regulatory change and the wider economic environment on the group's portfolio, working closely with Project Directors and policy teams to drive enhanced equity returns.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years leading transactions or sourcing new opportunities, with demonstrable experience in renewable energy or flexible generation.
  • A background in investment banking, private equity or a comparable environment.
  • Proven commercial exposure to the renewable infrastructure sector, ideally including flexible generation, with experience in industry due diligence and strong financial modelling skills.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with confident use of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A track record of negotiating and finalising key agreements from conception through to close.

Benefits

  • Strong remuneration potential, reflecting the seniority and impact of the role.
  • Genuine influence over a substantial, well-funded project pipeline.
  • Exposure to international expansion across the European energy transition.
  • Direct access to senior leadership and private equity decision-makers.

Mint Selection is committed to inclusive hiring and equal opportunities. We welcome applications from all backgrounds and are focused on building diverse teams that reflect the global energy transition.
