Steam Turbine Mechanical Fitter

Job description

For future power plants construction, commissioning and maintenance projects across UK, Ireland, Africa and APAC countries we are looking for Mechanical Fitters.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble, strip, and reuse steam turbines and generators components according to engineering specifications, ensuring all parts meet exacting standards.
• Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment with high accuracy to perform mechanical fitting tasks on rotating equipment.
• Safely operate lifting equipment and fixtures to efficiently move components during the assembly process while maintaining accurate records of build figures and production data.
• Uphold a strong commitment to quality and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations .
• Actively identify and suggest ideas for process improvements, fostering open communication and collaboration with supporting departments to enhance efficiency and quality.

Key Attributes

• A recognized Level 3 apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical certificate in a mechanical engineering field, along with relevant industry experience.
• Demonstrable experience in a mechanical fitting role, preferably involving mechanical equipment.
• Proficiency in mechanical fitting, use of precision measuring equipment, and operation of hand and power tools.
• Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to quality control and adherence to safety protocols.
