A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Harlow is seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work closely with a student who requires additional academic, social and emotional support. This role would be particularly well suited to a Psychology Graduate , Education Graduate or related graduate looking to gain valuable hands-on experience working with young people in an educational setting.
About the Role As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant in Harlow secondary school, you will:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with additional learning needs
Assist the student with accessing the curriculum and completing classroom tasks
Develop strategies that encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning
Support the student's social and emotional development throughout the school day
Build a positive, trusting and consistent relationship with the student
Work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo and wider pastoral team
Help create a calm, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching and SEN staff where appropriate
