Job overview

Join Central London Community Healthcare (CLCH) in one of two full-time substantive Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer (ACCIO) roles and help shape the future of digitally enabled healthcare.

Working closely with the Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO), Digital Clinical Safety Officer, Deputy Divisional Directors and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in delivering safe, effective and innovative digital transformation across the Trust. You will support the implementation and optimisation of digital healthcare technologies, ensuring they enhance patient care, improve staff experience and meet national NHS digital standards.

Main duties of the job

As an Associate Chief Clinical Information Officer, you will:

• Provide clinical leadership to support the delivery of the Trust's digital strategy and digital transformation programmes.
• Work collaboratively with clinical, operational, digital and transformation teams to implement and optimise digital healthcare systems.
• Promote the safe, effective and innovative use of technology to improve patient care, staff experience and service efficiency.
• Lead and support divisional digital transformation initiatives aligned with Trust and Integrated Care System priorities.
• Champion clinical engagement, ensuring digital solutions meet the needs of patients, carers and multidisciplinary teams.
• Identify , evaluate and promote digital innovations that improve quality, productivity and outcomes.
• Support compliance with NHS digital clinical safety standards, including monitoring and managing digital clinical risk.
• Provide leadership, advice and support for designated projects, including the effective use of people and resources where appropriate .
• Contribute to teaching, learning, research, governance and the continuous development of digital clinical practice across the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Person specification

Education/Qualification

• Clinical professional qualification and registration
• Undergraduate degree in a clinical or clinical informatics subject
• Evidence of on- going professional development
• Masters or equivalent combination of masters level education, specialist qualifications and experience
• Qualified Clinical Safety Officer or the willingness to undertake training
• Postgraduate Informatics/IT Qualification/ health leadership Qualification.
• Experience of digital transformation Projects within the NHS

Experience

• Extensive and up to date knowledge of clinical, administrative and/or operational workflows and processes within a community environment
• Extensive clinical and managerial knowledge of one or more specific area, including knowledge of relevant operational policies and procedures
• Previous NHS experience healthcare leadership
• Experienced operational management including, service delivery against specifications
• A track record of meeting challenging objectives in tight timeframes
• Comprehensive knowledge of NHS policy and strategy and the clinical agendas with an ability to translate into local action.
• Proven track record of managing clinical elements of IT/Information projects
• Comprehensive knowledge of Information Governance, Standard Operating Procedures and other governance, national and professional standards of practice or other regulations
• Experience of delivering benefits in a healthcare setting through the implementation and deployment of clinical systems, informatics and associated technology
• Experience of working at a strategic level to drive improved clinical processes
• Experience of identifying, reporting and managing clinical risk in current process and acting to improve processes

Skills & Knowledge

• Leadership experience, with the ability to lead, manage and motivate staff into achieving a common goal
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate fluently with staff at all levels in the organisation, including clinical staff, managerial staff and senior/board level executives, as well as with external suppliers
• Able to cope with unpredictable and intense situations and work under significant pressure to achieve deadlines whilst managing frequent interruptions
• Ability to resolve problems and conflicts by making informed decisions based on complex facts from a range of sources as well as the ability to manage challenging situations with staff, patients and visitors such as aggression, grief, anger etc.
• Drive to achieve high quality work with significant attention to detail.
• Exceptional organisational and strategic level logistics planning skills
• Exceptional analytical skills
• Ability to impart complex information and knowledge and/or present to others in a clear and concise manner
• Familiarity of Project management and/or change leadership

• Flexibility to meet the needs of the programme (i.e. Working weekends or nights during project go-live and cutover periods as required)
• Able to work across all CLCH sites and to be flexible to meet the needs of the role
