Overview

As Senior Project Lead, you will provide project leadership across complex clinical programmes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and external partners to ensure successful delivery. You will have the opportunity to contribute to clinical strategy, governance, due diligence and the development of more efficient clinical processes.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex clinical projects and programmes from planning through execution, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, budgets, quality standards and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, proactively identifying, managing and mitigating risks and issues.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams within a matrix environment, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery across multiple workstreams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with external researchers, clinical partners and collaborators.
  • Support the design, set-up and execution of clinical studies across relevant development phases.
  • Monitor project milestones, budgets, KPIs and overall performance, providing clear and accurate reporting to senior stakeholders.
  • Contribute to clinical development strategies, business cases, governance frameworks, SOPs and ways of working.
  • Support clinical due diligence and the assessment of potential new clinical collaborations and programmes.
  • Ensure clinical projects are delivered in accordance with relevant regulatory, ethical and organisational requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve clinical processes, systems and operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • BSc or equivalent degree in Life Sciences or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience managing clinical studies or clinical development projects within industry, a charity or similar research environment.
  • Strong experience within rare disease clinical development.
  • Good understanding of different clinical trial phases and clinical research methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant clinical research regulations and requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience leading cross-functional/matrix teams and delivering complex clinical projects.
  • Strong project management skills, including experience managing timelines, budgets, risks, milestones and deliverables.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across organisational and partnership levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.
