Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Specialist SEN School, Totnes

Location: Totnes, Devon

Pay: £125–£140 per day

Contract: Temp to perm, full-time (part-time considered for the right person)

Hours: 8:30am–3:45pm, Monday to Friday, term time (37.5 weeks per year)

Start date: ASAP

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting a caring, patient and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to work in a specialist school near Totnes, Devon.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to develop their confidence, independence and love of learning.

Working within a nurturing and supportive educational environment, you will help pupils overcome barriers to learning, build positive relationships and achieve their individual potential.

Whether you have previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant or in a care or support role, we would love to hear from you.

About the Learning Support Assistant role

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other education professionals to provide tailored support for pupils with additional learning needs. Your responsibilities will include:

Supporting pupils to access classroom learning and educational activities

Providing one-to-one and small-group learning support where required

Helping children and young people develop their communication, social and emotional skills

Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence

Creating a safe, calm and inclusive learning environment

Building positive and trusting relationships with pupils and colleagues

Supporting pupils with SEND and individual learning needs

Helping teachers deliver engaging and accessible learning activities

Working collaboratively with the wider school team to promote pupil progress and wellbeing
