TeacherActive is proud to be working with a large mainstream primary school based in Pontypool, who are looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA). The school benefits from a friendly, welcoming and supportive staff team who work collaboratively to create a positive learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential.

The school is looking to take on a Learning Support Assistant on a full-time, long-term basis, starting immediately. The successful Learning Support Assistant will provide a mixture of general classroom support and 1:1 assistance for pupils with mild Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD), helping pupils remain engaged, develop confidence and access the curriculum.

The successful Learning Support Assistant will have:

A relevant Teaching Assistant or Learning Support qualification (desirable)

Experience working with children in a primary school setting

Experience supporting pupils with ALN, including ASD, ADHD or behavioural difficulties

The ability to provide effective 1:1 support alongside general classroom assistance

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teaching staff

A patient, caring and adaptable approach with a positive 'can-do' attitude
