Location: Thatcham, Berkshire

Pay: £90-£105 per day

A specialist school in Thatcham is looking for a motivated Behaviour Teaching Assistant to join its team as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to work with pupils who may experience social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs or difficulties managing their behaviour in a classroom environment.

As a Behaviour Teaching Assistant , you will help create a positive and structured learning environment, working alongside teachers to encourage engagement, emotional regulation and positive relationships.

Key responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils who require additional behavioural guidance.

Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.

Support pupils in developing emotional regulation and social skills.

Help manage challenging behaviour using consistent, appropriate strategies.

Identify potential triggers and communicate concerns to teaching staff.

Encourage participation in lessons and promote confidence and resilience.

The ideal Behaviour Teaching Assistant will be calm, patient and resilient, with a genuine interest in supporting young people. Experience in education, mentoring, youth work or care is beneficial but not essential.
