This opportunity is ideal for someone who can confidently support pupils in Years 3 to 6, deliver planned learning and help keep lessons on track. From supporting targeted interventions to stepping up to lead a class when needed, you could make a real difference across a range of Rotherham schools.

Position: Key Stage 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply

Pay: £100 - £140 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available, paid via PAYE - no umbrella company fees, inclusive of holiday pay)

Start Date: ASAP or a start date that works for you

About the Role

As a Key Stage 2 Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Rotherham, you will support learning across Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Depending on the school, you may lead pre-prepared lessons, work with small groups or deliver interventions to help pupils strengthen their understanding.

The role may also involve supporting classroom organisation, encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils prepare for the transition to secondary education. Duties will depend on the requirements of each Rotherham school.

Key Responsibilities

Support learning across Key Stage 2

Lead pre-planned lessons and activities where required

Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions

Promote positive behaviour and active participation

Help pupils develop confidence and independent learning skills

Work closely with class teachers and other support staff

Candidate Requirements

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Relevant HLTA qualification or suitable experience for the role
