SEN Teaching Assistant - Rotherham

Are you a dedicated SEN TA looking for flexible TA opportunities across Rotherham?

Academics, an established Education Agency, are acting as an agency and are recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a temporary, ongoing supply basis across a variety of specialist SEN provisions throughout Rotherham.

This SEN opportunity offers the chance to support children and young people with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and communication needs. Some specialist provisions include Post-16 learners, therefore an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS is required, or applicants must be willing to obtain both.

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire
Contract: Temporary, flexible ongoing supply
Pay: £92.56 - £110 per day (dependent on experience, training, qualifications and client rate available)
Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Working as an SEN TA in Rotherham, you will be responsible for supporting learning in settings where students have additional learning needs.

The SEN Teaching Assistant role involves working closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils' academic, social and emotional development whilst promoting positive behaviour and independence.

Key Responsibilities

Support the teacher in delivering lessons

Adapt learning to meet EHCP targets

Support pupils with a range of SEN including ASC, ADHD and SEMH

Promote positive behaviour and independence

Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff and therapists

Follow safeguarding procedures

Candidate Requirements

A relevant Teaching Assistant Qualification (Cache LV 3 preferred)

Previous SEN teaching experience or strong knowledge of specialist education

Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and additional learning needs

Enhanced Child and Adult DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
