Teaching Assistant (Immediate Start)

Contract Type: Full-time, Term-Time Only

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly Year 3 team at a welcoming primary school in Rochester, Kent . This is an immediate start opportunity for someone who thrives in a supportive and engaging classroom environment.

Role Overview:

As a Year 3 Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher and helping pupils reach their full potential. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Classroom Support: Assisting the teacher with lesson delivery, preparing resources, and supporting pupils during activities.

Individual & Group Work: Providing targeted support to children in small groups or one-to-one, especially those with additional learning needs.

Encouraging Engagement: Helping pupils stay focused, motivated, and confident in their learning.

Monitoring Progress: Observing and recording pupil progress, feeding back to the teacher to help tailor future lessons.

Classroom Management: Supporting behaviour management strategies and helping maintain a positive learning environment.

Team Collaboration: Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to ensure every child receives the support they need.

General Duties: Assisting with classroom tidiness, displays, and basic administrative tasks.

What We're Looking For:

Experience working with primary-aged children (Year 3 or similar preferred)

A caring, patient, and proactive attitude

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to adapt to the needs of individual learners

A valid Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
