Job description
We are recruiting Complex Risk & Exploitation Support Workers to join our specialist team working with young people who present high, unpredictable, and escalating risks linked to exploitation, trauma, and unsafe behaviours.
This is not a general support role. It requires professional resilience, precision, and absolute consistency in safeguarding practice.
Role Overview You will deliver structured, high‐integrity support to young people with complex risk profiles, including exploitation indicators, missing episodes, high‐risk behaviours, and environmental vulnerabilities. Staff must be able to act decisively, follow safeguarding direction without drift, and maintain professional boundaries at all times. Key Responsibilities
Risk‐led safeguarding; proactive intervention, environmental management, and immediate response to unsafe behaviours.
Exploitation awareness; recognising grooming patterns, hotspots, triggers, and escalation points.
Consistent practice; following structured plans, risk assessments, and daily direction.
Professional boundaries; maintaining clarity, authority, and stability for young people.
Incident recording; accurate, timely, defensible documentation.
Multi‐agency working; liaising with police, social care, health, and exploitation teams.
Senior Support Worker Responsibilities (additional)
Operational leadership during high‐risk periods. Quality assurance of staff practice, boundaries, and safeguarding responses. Mentoring junior staff in risk‐led intervention. Escalation management including exploitation concerns, missing episodes, and police involvement. Defensible decision‐making aligned with regulatory expectations. What We're Looking For
Experience supporting young people with complex risk, exploitation, or trauma‐linked behaviours Confidence in taking immediate safeguarding action, not passive observation Emotional resilience and ability to work under pressure Strong professional boundaries Clear, accurate written communication For senior roles: proven leadership within high‐risk environments
