SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

Trust Education are recruiting on behalf of a nurturing primary school in the HD3 area for a supportive and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant. This is a part time role starting as soon as possible, offering a fantastic opportunity to join an experienced Key Stage 2 team.

The Role:

• Providing 1-1 support, ensuring the pupils needs are met in line with their individual learning plan and following EHCPs
• Adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
• Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
• Helping to maintain an organised classroom and prepare resources for lessons
• Promoting inclusion and ensuring all students feel valued and supported

The Ideal Candidate will:

• Be experienced working with children with SEND, ideally in a primary setting
• Display a patient, caring and empathetic approach
• Be reliable, supportive and able to work successfully as part of a team
• Strong communication skills
• Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
