Primary School on the outskirts of Wigan

Part time (5 mornings a week)

Are you an enthusiastic, compassionate, and dedicated individual looking for a rewarding role in education? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant primary school located on the outskirts of Wigan.

This is an exciting part-time opportunity working 5 mornings a week, supporting students and staff within a lively Year 2 classroom.

About the Role

Position: Year 2 Teaching Assistant (Key Stage 1)

Schedule: Monday to Friday, mornings only

Location: Primary school on the outskirts of Wigan (with great local transport links)

Start Date: From 2 November

As a Year 2 Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping young children build strong foundations in literacy and numeracy as they prepare for the transition through Key Stage 1.

Key Responsibilities

Supporting the class teacher with daily lesson delivery and classroom management.

Working with small groups and providing 1-to-1 targeted support for students who need extra encouragement.

Fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting children's social and emotional development.

What We Are Looking For

Previous experience working with children in an educational, nursery, or youth-work setting (Level 2 or Level 3 childcare/education qualifications are a bonus!).

An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (or willingness to apply for one through Tradewind).

CV must cover full employment history from leaving continuous education
